CLUB MARINE INSURANCE HOT CURRENT GAME FISHING TOURNAMENT 2009

Following the successful hosting of the Hot Current Game Fishing Tournament for the past 15 years, the Coffs Harbour Game Fishing Club with Club Marine Insurance will once again conduct this event on 13th to 17th November 2009.

Each year the event attracts a great number of anglers and is a highly regarded event on the Tournament circuit.  We were very pleased and proud that the tournament attracted 51 boats and 212 anglers for the 2008 tourney.  This is close to being a record for the tournament.  There were boats from Victoria, Queensland and basically from everywhere in between.  It was a big effort from anglers to support our tournament with fuel prices and the current economy.

The weather conditions for the tournament were very ordinary with only one day fished due to sea conditions, but this is the first time on record.  The Tournament Director and Committee considered the  safety of all vessels, no matter what size, to be paramount in the circumstances.  Unfortunately there was more money spent on beer than fuel.   But all in all, most people said they enjoyed themselves and they’d be back in 2009.

The 2009 Club Marine Insurance tournament will again offer over $40,000 in cash and prizes thanks to our great sponsors.  There will be eight categories along with  runners-up for boat prizes in each Line Class Tag & Release and Capture Sections, plus one category for T & R Most Marlin Boat up for grabs.

The committee has once again improved the tournament and facilities offered, for both competitors and sponsors alike.

Saturday 14^th November       

Official Opening Ceremony & Sailpast at 6:30am                                                  

Start fishing 7:30am  Lines up 4:00pm

6-9pm Sausage Sizzle at the Deep Sea Fishing Club and Sponsors Retail Therapy night

Sunday 15^th November              

Start fishing 7:00am Lines up 4:00pm

7pm  BBQ & drinks evening  at Coffs Harbour Deep Sea Fishing Club                    

Monday 16^th November 

Start fishing 7:00 am Lines up 4pm

Tuesday 17^th November             

Start Fishing 7am Lines up 3pm 

6:30pm Pre-dinner drinks at the Coffs Harbour Deep Sea Fishing Club followed at 7pm with the Presentation Dinner and Awards
